Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) is the least costly and most effective method of addressing the overpopulation of free-roaming, primarily feral, cats in our communities. The cats are humanely trapped, sterilized, and then returned to their outdoor habitat where their caregiver continues to provide them with food and water.

If you already understand TNR and are seeking our assistance with free-roaming (feral) cats that you are caring for, you can sign up for our help online. click here

In 2004 AzCATs humanely ended the breeding cycle for more than 6,400 cats through our TNR program and far exceeded our budget. Individual donations are our single greatest source of funding. Grants from charitable foundations help but they aren’t enough to make up the deficit. Many foundations that provide funding for animal rescue organizations exclude feral cat sterilization. Moreover, foundations want to know that they are helping those people with financial need. For those reasons AzCATs asks that you give to the best of your ability to help with our costs. AzCATs is fortunate to work with a few vets in the valley that provide low cost spay/neuter services, however, even with our partnership with these local vets, on average the surgeries cost our organization $35-$55 per cat.If you would like our help with trap, neuter, return but need financial assistance, please fill out the request for help and this application for reduction or waiver. Thank you.

If you need help or guidance for a particular project or trying to educate others about the wisdom of TNR here are some flyers or other documents that may help you:
